In today’s post, I’m excited to share with you my engagement story. As I’m sitting in my room typing out this post, it feels very surreal to me that I’m actually getting married. I want to start by saying how grateful I am for family, friends, and especially my fiance, Hector. I’m a firm believer that everything happens in God’s timing, and I know Heavenly Father had his hands in our relationship. I’m happy and blessed that I get to marry my best friend!
WHEN?
My engagement took place on July 8th, 2023, in the evening. A lot of my friends asked me if I knew when he was proposing, and the answer is yes! Hector wanted me to feel comfortable (have my outfit picked out, etc.), so he never told me the exact date. I had an idea that I’d be on a weekend, and surely I was right!
WHERE?
St. Regis, Deer Valley! Hector drove us up to Park City, UT, which is a special place because that’s where we went on Valentine’s Day together. When he came to pick me up, I knew he had reservations, but I didn’t know the place where we’d be going to dinner. As we kept driving through the Canyon and further into Park City, we arrived at the St. Regis hotel. We went up this cute ram up the mountain to get to the restaurant, which was SO stunning. The food was really good at the place we went to, especially the bread and butter (lol)!
HOW?
Ok, so I honestly had no idea how he was actually going to propose. I truly thought he’d take me on a walk somewhere after dinner, but little did I know he would propose at the table! After we ate our meal, I turned my head and noticed his good friend, Tobias, who is also an amazing photographer, sitting at a table behind us! I knew then and there that something was happening. A few minutes after noticing Tobias, Hector got on one knee and popped the question. His brother, Ricky, came over to bring me flowers, and all I remember hearing was people cheering us on. It was honestly such a special moment. The proposal happened at sunset, so we were able to capture gorgeous photos.
- Seeing the photographer as I turned my back at dinner
- Hearing everyone clap as I got proposed to
- The butter and bread (the butter had little flowers in it)
- As Hector got out of the car, I saw an outline of the ring box in his front pocket, which made me so excited.
- Talking to Hector’s mom on the phone that evening.
